Jonathan Hendrickson has international exposure as an active music producer, arranger, musician, and songwriter; having worked alongside contemporaries of Faith Hill, Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Rascal Flatts, Mary J. Blige, and Mariah Carey, just to name a few.
Bands and artists he has produced have enjoyed success being regularly featured in TV and film, garnering critical acclaim and drawing the attention of fans worldwide. Jonathan also has the distinction of producing one of the highest-played indie singles in Pandora’s history, still regularly receiving over 300,000 plays monthly.
Additionally, Jonathan is an award-winning musical artist in his own right, regularly recording and performing his own works in a variety of styles from jazz to pop-rock, and everything in between. Highly sought after as a multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, drums, bass, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, accordion, xylophone, percussion, organ, synths, a variety of horns and strings, etc.) he has had the opportunity to perform, record, and tour with some of the music industry’s finest musicians such as LA’s top brass session players Jeff Burnell (Star Trek, Mission Impossible 3, Finding Nemo) and Wayne Bergeron (Superman Returns, The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3) , world-renown bass player Christian McBride, and John Mayer’s sax player Bob Reynolds, among many others.
His background as a musical theater actor (performing alongside such notable artists as Broadway sensation Betsy Wolfe and musical icon Kevin Max of DC Talk) has given him a unique perspective into the nuance of dramatic performance, which he supports through his vision as a film and music producer as well as through his work in scoring and sound design.
In the world of television, Jonathan has provided music cues for programs such as American Idol with his work being featured on several major networks such as NBC, FOX, etc. He has also produced, composed, mixed, and mastered music for internationally broadcast commercials. Additionally, he has had the opportunity to work alongside film composers such as the legendary Alf Clausen (of The Simpsons fame) and has scored spec cues for Dawson’s Creek, Weeds, and other prominent programs.
He has also produced music and live shows for artists featured on popular talent showcases such as The Voice, American Idol, and Holland’s Got Talent, in addition to frequently producing original material for esteemed competitions such as the Miss California Pageant.
Jonathan regularly lends his recording and compositional talents to nationally recognized dance studios, orchestras, bands, opera houses and numerous large live events. He also has written extensively for brass and string ensembles and was even commissioned to write original music for special symphonic performances.
With a passion for education, himself graduating with honors earning a Bachelor’s degree in music from Fresno State University, Jonathan has been involved in the creation and administration of community music schools and programs, and even provided guidance in the formation of a new jazz studies degree program at the California State University level.
A frequent guest clinician for music festivals and competitions, and a regular guest instructor at college-level music clinics and courses, he also has found time to give back through founding and providing oversight for several music-focused nonprofit organizations, as well as serving as a private music instructor and teacher of music in multiple area public and private school systems.
Jonathan also owns and operates the largest commercial recording studio in California’s Central Valley, which he personally designed and is currently expanding to include a 1,000+ square foot live room capable of tracking large ensembles and even an entire orchestra. The state-of-the-art facility features ground-breaking acoustical engineering leading to Jonathan serving as a psychoacoustics construction engineering consultant for other recording studio builds across the country.
In order to respond quickly to the needs of clients and producers and to extend the reach of his in-demand studio, Jonathan has built a team of experienced engineers, arrangers, and musicians (with resumes citing Ocean Way Studios, Mix LA, The Sound Kitchen, etc.) and regularly trains interns to pass on the unique and technical knowledge he has gained through the years.
Even with such a storied career, the greatest of his achievements is being happily married to the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Megan, as well as the birth of their two beautiful daughters, Grace and Joey, and sons, Jack and James.
